Sir,

I am still awaiting a response from your office on my complaint dated 18th of July, 2006, pertaining to the unacceptable mistreatment by your Embassy visa staff in context with the tourist visa application for my wife. She is now in Europe on her vacation, but I intend to follow up on this complaint till I receive a logical and satisfactory conclusion.

Briefly, my representative was told to come three times, each time with an instruction for yet another document. Each time the passport and applications were literally flung back at him. To my understanding, this is not correct, and there could be many reasons why your visa staff were behaving this way. The subsequent information about the problems faced by the Swiss Embassy in Pakistan only strengthen my views that matters were not as simple as they appear to be. And finally, a rather delayed information to me that the security guard "advised" my office assistant that it would be "easier" if the passport and application was sent through an "agent" now requires that I seek your direct intervention.

It is pertinent to point out here that my wife and I have visited Switzerland regularly as tourists, and have seen how the behaviour of the visa office is becoming worse with time.

Furthermore, I do hope your Embassy has stopped the practice of pasting a huge big sticker on the front of Indian passports, defacing the National Emblem of my country.

Sincerely,

Veeresh Malik,
