Dr Charles Eugster, 1919-2017
LONDON, 27th APRIL 2017 - Dr Charles Eugster, the best-selling author and record-breaking athlete, has died in London at the age of 97. His publicist confirmed he passed away Wednesday evening from complications following heart failure.
He died the same week I finished reading the legacy book he left to the world. Charles has had an incredibly busy life until the very last days as he was readying for the World Masters Indoor Championships in South Korea.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading the first part of the book where he wittingly comes back over his long life, then came the many insightful advices on good aging from where the above quotes are coming. I am still too young for the last part but I might come back to it in a few decades.

No it's not! I feel crappy having an achy-breaky body. {Sigh} and beautiful 70 year old girls? Haw! I only know one who still looks nice, but not the same nice she was 52 years ago. She's old.
Geo. Tirebiter I already know I'd enjoy reading your book if you ever write one
Low target. He should have targeted 20 years old girls. Not 70.
I thank genetic, swimming, trekking and good food (and a little bit of will and women: strong motivator). I am 53 and my body can still easily compete with 30 years old men.
Olivier Malinur & good plan, though you might find yourself reconsidering your target age group 43 years from today
Definitely not 70 years old.
My great grandfather married his third wife when he was 65. She was 30. He was clever man: he trapped women with food, he was a chef, specialized in pastries and seafood starters.
Age is just a number. And my number is stuck somewhere and oscillating between 11 and 30. It stubbornly refuses to move out of that range however much I might tilt and shake the clock. How will I ever get to 97?? I'm going to end up as one of the tragical statistics of dying young!!
Anjali Satish Tuhil Dukul Charles Eugster died last month while he was planning and preparing another competition in South Korea. That how I would like to die, whatever the age but busy as hell. I'd rather not seeing it coming but do understand the importance of a legacy when one has children.
Zaid El-Hoiydi So sorry, I didn't realise this was an obituary.😔🤐
